- December 12, 2024 – As in corn, revised exports in the current marketing year were the main driver of changes to the U.S. supply and demand balance sheet for wheat in the December WASDE. This highlights the important role this use category will play in price trends and prospects as we head into 2025.
- November 26, 2024 – The condition index for the 2025 U.S. winter wheat crop was up 10 points this week to 348, close to the 352-point average. The composite crop condition index of wheat in the Southern Plains is 347, one point below the national average. The index was higher for each state in the region.
- November 15, 2024 – The condition index for the 2025 U.S. winter wheat crop was up 10 points this week to 326, closer to the 352 point average. The share of crop rated very poor and poor was down 5 to 18%. Wheat rated good and excellent increased 3% to 44.
- November 8, 2024 – Only minor changes to U.S. wheat in the November WASDE. Supply was up 5 million bushels on an increase in imports. Use was up 2 million bushels on an increase in food use. Good rain across the Southern Plains last week. More in the forecast this week.
- November 1, 2024 – The drought monitor for the Southern Plains Climate Hub shows the area impacted by drought up to 93%–but rain is in the forecast!
