Live Programs Scheduled This Fall

In September, we will be hitting the road to host our final live Ranchers Leasing Workshop, Where’s the Beef Program, and Owning Your Piece of Texas Programs for 2023.  Each of these are award-winning programs that focus on offering practical information to rural landowners and agricultural producers.  We hope you’ll join us!

Ranchers Leasing Workshop

Our final Ranchers Leasing Workshop for 2023 will be in Decatur on September 13.  This half-day program is focused particularly on grazing and hunting leases.  Topics include why leasing land (as a landowner or tenant) can be beneficial, going lease rates, why written leases are important, what to include in a lease agreement, PRF insurance, and landowner liability.  The cost is $50/person and that will include lunch and a hard copy of our Ranchers Agricultural Leasing Handbook.  To date, we’ve had over 1,400 Texans attend these programs, and 100% said they would recommend it to a friend.   We are finalizing details, but for any real estate agents interested, we will be able to offer CE credit–the exact number of hours and course titles will be forthcoming.  We will also have some sponsors onsite including the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

Where’s the Beef?

If you are interested in direct-to-consumer beef sales, this class is for you!  This day-long course focuses on the legal and economic considerations for direct beef sales businesses.  Speakers include a meat scientist, lawyer, economist, and a panel of producers already engaged in direct-to-consumer sales.  Again, lunch and a hard copy of our handbook will be included.  Our final program of the year will be hosted in Decatur on September 12 and registration costs $100.  Sponsors for this program include the Texas Beef Council and the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

Owning Your Piece of Texas: Key Laws Texas Landowners Need to Know

This full-day program is focused on key laws for rural landowners and agricultural producers in Texas.  From fence law to property taxes, landowner liability to eminent domain, we bring in experts from around the state to help you understand the laws that could impact you.  Of course, we’ll feed you lunch and you’ll walk away with a copy of our Owning Your Piece of Texas handbook.  If you’re a real estate agent, we are able to offer 7 hours of CE credit.  Contact me for information on the course names and numbers.  The registration fee is $75/person.

We’re grateful for our Handbook Sponsor for all of our 2023 Owning Your Piece of Texas events, Texas Land Associates.  Additional sponsors include Capital Farm Credit, Insureberry, and the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

On September 25, we’ll be in Rosenberg.    To register for Rosenberg, click here.  The following day, we’ll be in Emory.  For Emory registration, click here.
