Bob Simpson has served as an instructor for the General Income Tax Workshops since 1983. As an instructor, Bob travelled throughout the State of Texas conducting tax workshops, interacting with participants through discussion and answering participant questions.
Concurrently with these workshops, Bob completed 34 years of Distinguished Public Service with the Internal Revenue Service. After retiring from the Internal Revenue Service, he has spent the last 17 years as a practicing CPA providing his clients with consulting services and new tax law updates regarding federal and state income taxes and state franchise taxes. He provided accounting and tax services that included compiling, preparing, and reviewing financial statements. He prepared, reviewed, and filed federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses that included partnerships, C Corporations, S Corporations, exempt organizations as well as Texas franchise tax returns. He represented individual and business clients before the IRS to resolve federal income tax matters.
Bob is a member of the AICPA, TSCPA, and NSTP.

Guido van der Hoeven operates a consulting business, vdH Consulting, in which he is the Principal Consultant. VdH Consulting offers tax education, tax planning, business succession planning, and general rural business strategy.
Additionally, Guido van der Hoeven retired as an Extension Specialist/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina in October 2019. Guido’s extension responsibilities included: income taxation of individuals and business entities, farm business management and the profitable continuation of “family firms” to succeeding generations.
Van der Hoeven serves as President of the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation, Inc. which publishes a ~650-page text for income tax training of professional tax practitioners and a ~220-page text focusing on Agricultural Taxation. Guido provides instruction in tax education for LGUTEF members and has presented in 9 states in person and via webinars. Guido van der Hoeven incorporates his practical experience as a tax practitioner into his teaching of tax issues with a focus on adding value to the attendees so that their service to their clients is improved.
Guido van der Hoeven is married; he and his wife, Emily, have four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and two growing grandchildren!

Herb partnered with Pathfinder Financial Services in February of 2016. He is an Enrolled Agent (EA), CFP® and Investment Advisor Representative serving clients with financial planning, investment, insurance and tax preparation needs.
Herb spent 10 years working in higher education as a Soccer Coach, Admissions Counselor, and Financial Aid Representative. He also served his church as a Youth Pastor for four years prior to relocating to El Paso, TX in 2015. Herb has been married to his wife Jenae since 2001 and they have three children and a dog.
