Lisa Patterson is the program manager for Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Tax Workshops.
This program has been providing quality tax workshops at reasonable prices for professionals in Texas for the past fifty years. The learner-focused topics have included general income tax updates, advanced tax content, and agricultural tax issues.

As an educator for more than twenty-five years, it has been Mrs. Patterson’s mission to equip others with the building blocks to success. She uses her knowledge and skills to support people, programs, and partnerships. Through a cyclical approach she plans, monitors, and evaluates the tax workshop program with a focus on how to better serve the community.

Scott Youngblood is a highly experienced Certified Public Accountant and attorney with his business located in Pearland, Texas. Scott is licensed to practice law in Texas and in the United States Tax Court.

He provides accounting services specializing in tax planning and preparation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates and trusts, business consultations, and payroll services. Most of Scott’s legal representation consists of IRS litigation, issues with the Texas Comptroller and TWC, business contracts, setting up business entities, and wills and probate.

Scott is an Adjunct Professor with the University of Houston – Clear Lake where he teaches business federal income tax. He sits on the board of HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland Board of Trustees and has served as Treasurer on the Pearland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He has taught tax seminars and estate planning for the Pearland Small Business Development Center with emphasis on tax implications, types of wills and the probate process and guest lectured for various Tax, Business Law and Healthcare Law courses.

Scott and his wife, Rosemary, enjoy spending time at their ranch in Caldwell, TX with their adult children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. He takes joy in international travel and is an avid outdoorsman.

Her responsibilities included bookkeeping, budgeting, banking, and forecasting. This role ignited her entrepreneurial spirit, leading her to establish her CPA firm in 2011. Over the years, she acquired three accounting firms to expand her business. With a client base of 1,300, her primary goal is to offer value-added services. Catherine and her team of 15 employees are dedicated to fostering personal connections with every client who walks through their doors.

Guido van der Hoeven operates a consulting business, vdH Consulting, in which he is the Principal Consultant. VdH Consulting offers tax education, tax planning, business succession planning, and general rural business strategy.

Additionally, Guido van der Hoeven retired as an Extension Specialist/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina in October 2019.  Guido’s extension responsibilities included: income taxation of individuals and business entities, farm business management and the profitable continuation of “family firms” to succeeding generations.

Van der Hoeven serves as President of the Land Grant University Tax Education Foundation, Inc. which publishes a ~650-page text for income tax training of professional tax practitioners and a ~220-page text focusing on Agricultural Taxation. Guido provides instruction in tax education for LGUTEF members and has presented in 9 states in person and via webinars. Guido van der Hoeven incorporates his practical experience as a tax practitioner into his teaching of tax issues with a focus on adding value to the attendees so that their service to their clients is improved. 

Guido van der Hoeven is married; he and his wife, Emily, have four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and two growing grandchildren!
