Jeff Pate is an Extension Program Specialist I – Risk Management with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service based in Lubbock, Texas (District 2). Pate joined the Texas A&M System in August of 2005. His activities focus on analyzing financial performance and measuring alternative risk strategies for area producers in cooperation with the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation demonstration project.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Pate worked in the banking industry, first with Security Bank, and then with City Bank. He also spent 12 years farming in the Lubbock area, after a 10 year period of teaching Agriculture Science. He holds a B.S. and an M.Ed degree from Texas Tech University in Agriculture Education.
