Census of Agriculture
Every five years, the National Agricultural Statistics Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) conducts a Census of Agriculture to describe the agricultural industry. It gives us some new perspectives about the different aspects of Texas agriculture. The results of the 2007 Census of Agriculture were recently published and we have compared those results to the 2002 Census, and in some cases the 1997 Census.
The following report, A Decade of Change in Texas Agriculture, uses Census data to describe current trends in Texas agriculture. The report is divided into six areas, an introduction and five sections, which can be accessed by clicking on the following links (PDF file format).
- Introduction (p. 1 - 4)
