Dr. Kenneth W. Stokes

Professor and Extension Specialist Emeritus.  Stokes retired August 2005. His Extension efforts covered all aspects of farm and ranch management. He has awards from Texas Cooperative Extension, Southern and American Ag Economics Associations and USDA–CSREES.

Currently as the Director of the Southern Region Risk Management Education Center, Stokes administered a competitive Risk Management Education grants program using funds provided by USDA.

Ken is active in the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) having served in state and national offices, as instructor for accrediting courses and on numerous committees.  He earned the Accredited Farm Manager (AFM) designation in 1993.

Ken received his B.S. (1967) and M.S. (1969) in Agricultural Economics from Texas Tech and his Ph.D. (1980) from Texas A&M.

Diane, his wife, works as a tax specialist to provide working capital for Ken's cattle operations on a small place outside of Stephenville. They have four children and four grandkids.
